TASUED matric & make-up test update!!!
*_On the issue of the* *matric and makeup test._*

Firstly, conducting matric is a ceremonial function of the school. There is a reason why the matric day hasn't been held yet. And it is for the benefit of the fresh students, especially those that haven't paid school fees. The new regulation of JAMB is that institutions must forward the name of all matriculating students to JAMB at least, two weeks before the matric day. To get on this list, you must have matric number. And we all know that for anyone to have matric number, s/he must pay school fee.
So if they had held the matric before conducting E-test, several students won't still be able to participate in the test and their admission would have been forfeited since their names wouldn't be recognized by JAMB. So we still pleaded for the matric not to hold yet so as to give room for others to pay up. You will recall that the University had to send SMS to those students that they must pay up their school fee on or before Thursday, 19th of December else their admission would be forfeited. That's because the matric date has been fixed on the recommendation of JAMB that it is taking too long. We still pleaded for the extension and it was granted which will make the students have the grace of paying till 31st of December since matric is in the early weeks of January to precede exams.
Now you are clamouring for make-up test, don't forget that if their matric had been conducted and admission forfeited, makeup test would not make any sense any longer to those affected. So to make use of the makeup test, we had to plead for the matric day to be postponed.
On the general cries for make-up test. There is a yardstick for it. And fundamentally it depends on how the students turn up in making payment after test has been conducted. Imagine when people haven't made payment some weeks after test and they are clamouring for make-up. What should we bargain with? I understand that the economy is harsh, we should not equally forget that the school is administered on our fees and so if we are not making payment, it would be difficult for us to work things out from our end. Even though we are pressing for it. And don't forget, this is the first time we would successfully convince the management for the shift in date of the test diplomatically by a week.
Make-up test is a privilege, not a right. But to claim this privilege, we must give something in return and that is making payment. You can only assist us when you make the payment. Inform those that are yet to pay to do so by God's grace. When the significant numbers pay, the management would listen to us better then.
Personally, I don't like addressing issues on social media until we get results for our people. And the results in this case is coming with a good news that there will be makeup test. But our default in making payment as a barrier has made me addressed this.
